Founded in 1917 by the great educationist and philanthropist, Rai Kedar Nath,Ramjas College is one of the oldest colleges of Delhi. Beginning from the humble precincts of Darya Ganj in Old Delhi, the College today boasts of a spacious campus,state-of-the-art infrastructure and an esteemed faculty of scholars trained at leading universities in India and abroad.The college has a wonderful infrastructure along with the excellent faculty and the most exuberant crowd.

College will be completing 100 years on 17th January 2017,so the college is set to celebrate this occasion in even more grand and out of the box way.

RAMJAS COLLEGE has 18 departments which offers undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science.The College provides the students with best facilities possible along with practical applications.

In collaboration with the Departments of Germanic and Romance Studies,Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies,Persian and Modern Indian languages University of Delhi,the College offers the Teaching of Part-Time Certificate Courses in the following languages:

SOCIETY CULTURE AT RAMJAS COLLEGE

RAMJAS COLLEGE IS BLESSED WITH THE BEST OF THE SOCIETIES THAT MAKE PROUD COLLEGE EVERY YEAR WITH THE LAWRENCE THEY BRING IN TO THE COLLEGE. THE SOCIETIES AND CLUBS ARE AS FOLLOWS.IT ENHANCES THE SKILLS OF STUDENTS AND INCREASES THEIR PROFICIENCY.

The Extra Curricular Activities Committee in keeping with the manifesto of Ramjas College encourages students to step beyond the confines of textbooks.The ECAC provides a forum for the intellectual,creative and cultural development of students.The dynamic presence of the extra curricular activities in Ramjas College can be seen and felt on the premises of the college until late in the evening with the band practicing in the auditorium, the Dramatics Society rehearsing in the lawns and posters being made for events by the Fine Arts Society in the corridors.

The ECA Committee endeavours to bring together all those who share an interest in Music,Dance,Drama and Fine Arts or in the literary modes of expression.Students who fulfil the minimum criteria of admission set up by the University are admitted to the College on the basis of their proven skills in these fields.Students of the College (i.e. those not admitted through the ECAC) are also encouraged to enrol in the ECAC through auditions held in August.

Keeping in mind the varied interests and talent of students, the ECAC has set up the following societies. Each society is managed and run by the students’ body, with teachers only in an advisory role.

SUTTA POINT

The most happening place in the college where you can sit and relax and you will find huge groups discussing over their issues and chilling and even smoking but it is okay it is not compulsory to smoke just because the name suggests. It is a nice place to hang out with your new friends in the campus.

In a world where competition grows by the minute and multiplies by the hour, placements have become a yardstick for excellence.

At Ramjas College, we always strive to create an environment in which each individual is encouraged to step beyond the confines of the academic and administrative disciplines to explore newer vistas. Our placement cell was conceptualized and initiated taking into consideration the desire of the students to utilize the education and vocational training that they received within the campus in the business environment.

The placement cell serves as an interface between the students and the corporate world. Apart from bringing various companies to the campus, the placement cell also organizes talks, study abroad seminars, internship opportunities, and workshops for the collective student body.
