Ans: St Stephens College and Jesus & Mary College follows their own admission process.You’ll have to apply to both the colleges separately.

Ques: Is there NCC quota in Delhi University?

Ques: What all documents are required for a student planning to take admission under various caste based reservations? (SC/ST/OBC)

Ans: Students planning to take admission under caste based reservation should have a caste certificate issued in their name which shouldn’t be more than 6 months old.The OBC certificate should mention that the candidate belongs to Non Creamy layer and the caste is a part of the Central Governments official list.An income certificate of the parents can also be asked.

Ques: Is admission to Delhi University based on Entrance Test or Merit for Under Graduate Admissions 2017?

Ans: Admission to Delhi University’s UG Courses is on the basis of merit only which is cutoff based.There will entrance tests for some courses which always had entrance test based admission.

Ques: I gave my Class 12th exams in 2016 and had compartment in a few subjects which I’ve now cleared.Now I’m having two mark sheets,which marks will be considered for admissions at Delhi University? Also will I face any disadvantage because of the year gap?

Ans: No,you wont face any disadvantage because of the year gap.You can get admission to Delhi University provided you clear the cutoffs.Also,you need to provide your revised marks to the university.

Ques: What relaxation is provided to girl candidates in Delhi University?

Ans: A number of Delhi University colleges offer relaxation to girl candidates in some particular courses where the Boy-Girl ratio isn’t balanced.It is generally between 1-5% according to last three years.The relaxation policy changes every year.The idea behind offering relaxation is to maintain a healthy gender ratio in college.

Ques: I didn’t study Mathematics in Class 12th. Am I eligible to get admission in B.Com (Hons) or BA Economics (Hons)?

Ques: I had both Commerce and Accountancy as a subject in Class 12th.Which subject will be added to Best of Four calculation?

Ans: Both the marks can be added to Best of Four score.

Ques: After getting admission in a particular college can the course be changed later on during the next 3 years?

Ans: No you can’t change your course during those 3 years.

Ques: Are admissions done on the basis of First Cum First Serve basis?

Ans: No,admissions aren’t done on first cum first serve basis.All the students who are getting admission in a college and are able to complete all the formalities during that particular cutoff window will be given admission no matter how many seats are present in the college.

Ques: I’ve completed my 12th class from Open Schooling.Can I get admission in DU?

Ans: Yes you can provided you meet the desired cutoff by colleges.

Ques: Will there be CATE for admission to English Hons?

Ans: No,CATE is no longer a part of the admission process.English Hons admissions will take place on the basis of Class 12th Marks only.

Ques: I have compartment in some subjects. Can I still apply to Delhi University?

Ans: It is strongly recommended that you apply for Delhi University but you won’t get admission if the result of your compartment exams isn’t released within the admission window of Delhi University.

Ques: I’m from science background and wants to study either B.A. or B.Com now.Can I apply for the same?

Ans: Yes you can apply to courses like B.Com (Hons),B.Com and B.A.

Ques: What benefits can a Sikh candidate avail from Sikh minority colleges?

Ans: Colleges like SGTB Khalsa College,SGND Khalsa College,Mata Sundri College and Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce have seats reserved for sikh candidates.You can check with these colleges to get more information about the relaxation and reservation criteria.

Ques: Is it necessary for the applicant to be present on the day of admission?

Ans: Yes,there are a number of documents which have to be provided by the applicant and also sign many documents.
