On Wednesday, the Madras High Court instructed CBSE to list the inspections carried out at private schools affiliated to the board by Friday.
The orders were directed after advocate M. Purushothaman accused that most of the private schools affiliated to the board overburden the students with more work than prescribed by NCERT.He accused the board of failing to keep a check on the schools.
CBSE was also asked by Justice N. Kirubakaran to list the number of schools whose affiliation has been cancelled and the reasons for the cancellation – whether it was due to lack of infrastructural facilities, failure to renew affiliation or other possible reasons.
The board told the court that it would not be possible to take actions unless there is any complaint against the schools. However, the court was not in favour of such a submission.
