19 Year Old Journalism Student Commits Suicide In Bengaluru,Depression Being Suspected Reason

On 23 January 2019,a Journalism student from Kristu Jayanti College in K Narayanapura , Bengaluru, committed suicide in her paying guest accommodation.

According to Times of India, Sophia Damani, 19, was depressed due to loneliness caused by staying away from parents in paying guest accommodation.

On Wednesday morning , Sophia’s roommate left for classes but she refused to go. CCTV footage recovered from the PG shows that she did not come out of the room for the entire day. Her dead body was discovered by the maid on bed at 4:30 PM on Wednesday.

Police suspects that Sophia committed suicide at 11 AM.They also recovered a notebook and two empty medicine bottles. In the notebook, Sophie had written a message to a friend apologising for not being able to make it for dinner on Sunday night.
