Harshit,a student of Delhi University was allegedly beaten up on Friday evening in North-West Delhi’s Bharat Nagar.
ABOUT THE INCIDENT
Harshit who is 18,is a resident of Ashok Vihar.The incident happened when he was returning from his tuition classes in Sawan Park area.He was reported saying ‚ÄúAfter finishing my tuitions I was on my way back home on my two-wheeler when I saw a car being driven by a woman coming from the opposite side in Ravidas lane.Another car also came and stopped in front of the previous car and there was no space to move.The woman was reversing her car and I was trying to move my scooter as well”.The woman started shouting at him and another man who has been reportedly identified as Khem Singh started thrashing him and was later joined by his son.Despite pleadings on his part,Harshit was brutally beaten up by the father and son using rods.
Harshit informed his Uncle about the incident who came to the location and then informed the police about everything.Harshit was then taken to the hospital by the police officials who reached the location after being informed.Hashit’s family has been reported saying that the police was trying to hush the matter up by excluding some of the stringent sections in the FIR.
An FIR has now been lodged under sections of 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongfully restraining any person) of the Indian Penal Code at Bharat Nagar police station.
