- A new student-friendly initiative has been taken by the Delhi Government which will enable the students to issue their license from their college itself which will benefit in superlative. Students will be able to take possession of their learning license from their college premises only.
‚ÄúYoung and studying in Delhi? You soon get your Learner‚Äôs Driving License from your college itself. Delhi Government empowers Directors and Principals of colleges, Polytechnics and ITI’s to issue Learner‚Äôs License. Over 2 Lakh students will benefit each year‚Äù said Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot.
Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal claimed the initiative as “big step in cutting the red tape” and “reducing corruption”.
The license will be valid up to six months.Students have to appear for an online test to get the learning license . Henceforth students will be able to receive their learning license from their colleges and after the driving test at the RTO  they will be issued with the permanent license. Initially,this provision has been made accessible to the Polytechnic and 6 colleges which constitute under Delhi Government.
