DU Express congratulates Raunak Kumar Singh from Political Science Department of Dyal Singh Evening College for participating in National Youth Parliament Festival 2019 organised by Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry and securing an AIR 4 and winning the cash prize of Rs 1.1 Lakh.
National Youth Parliament Festival, 2019 was held on 26th February, 2019 at New Delhi.
In an Interview, Raunak Kumar Singh shared his wonderful experience with DU Express.
“Youth affairs and sports ministry conducted first on district level, where I stood 1st position, then at state level where I again secured 1st position, then I represented Jharkhand in National Youth Parliament at Vigyan Bhawan where I won 1.1 lakh cash prize. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the concluding speech by mentioning that I was the only student of Delhi University to make it into the finals of National Youth Parliament.” said Raunak.
When asked about “How do you feel after securing Air 4?” Singh replied “It’s always a great feeling to represent such a great population of youth and especially my state. I am thankful to the government that they recognised my voice and awarded me AIR 4.”
On asking about why he participated in the National level competition, he replied “Debates have always been my USP. My college teachers and especially my family always support me whenever I take up this type of competitions.‚Äù¬†
We concluded the interview with a final question “How many Youth Parliament events you have attended? Specify the achievements if any.”
“I have been to some National level debates and speech competitions but first time National Youth Parliament has been conducted by the government and I feel blessed that I am among Top 5. There were total 56 students in the finals. Two from each state.” answered Singh.
