MS Dhoni won’t Charge any Fee for Mentoring Team India

Recently, the news of MS Dhoni’s decision on mentoring the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup has been getting the cricket fans excited all over the country. It has been revealed that Dhoni won’t be charging any monetary fee for his role as a mentor. The tournament commencing on October 17th will be played in Oman and UAE.

Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, affirmed the news by presenting his gratitude to MS Dhoni. He expressed his gratitude towards the legendary cricketer for serving the team during the quadrennial event.

Speaking to Aaj Tak, Shah said the legendary cricketer wouldn’t be charging a single penny for his new role. “MS Dhoni won’t charge even a single penny for his role as Indian team mentor during the World Cup,” Shah was quoted as saying.

Additionally, the chief of BCCI Saurav Ganguly too confirmed the news. He stated that Dhoni will not be taking any fee for his new role in Team India. “Dhoni will not charge anything to mentor the Indian team,” Ganguly was quoted as saying.

Dhoni’s Victories

The 40-year-old Dhoni, led Team India to glory in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007. Afterwards, he retired from international cricket in August 2020. However, Dhoni has continued to play for Chennai Super Kings in the edition of the Indian Premier League. CSK reached the finals of IPL 2021 after beating Delhi Capitals and finally grabbed the trophy against Kolkata Knight Riders.

A right-handed middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper Dhoni, is one of the highest run-scorers in One Day Internationals (ODIs). Legendary cricketers such as Kapil Dev, Adam Gilchrist, Nasser Hussain and Kevin Peterson have praised him for his skills in the field of cricket. They have ranked him as one of the greatest wicket-keeper, batsman and captains in the history of the game.
