A Letter To All The Women

Dear Warriors,

Midst the battleground you are thriving on oblivious of today’s day, I ask you to STOP!

I ask you to look around, relax and have that one piece of cake just by yourself. A pause to all the OCD triggers and guilt warning for you have been programmed to reach perfection rather than acceptance. Today give a pause to the fight you have been having with the world but most importantly with yourself.

I have seen you running around from house to house, cleaning, cooking, babysitting other’s children as if your own further taking responsibility of your own. Even though you and your work are least acknowledged and shown gratitude for, one day without you seems like a tornado in my house. Today as I write to you, I thank you with all my heart for a girl who would have cried back home to my mom.

As ambitious as every woman gets in today’s time, you chose to devote your time to your family. While most of us failed to acknowledge the fact that it was your choice to do so, we judged you as old fashioned and too ‘traditional’. Today as I see, I see as the most compassionate person, fulfilling everyone’s needs reminding everyone to love and be loved.

As I scroll through social media, I see how you feel insecure about yourself. You beat yourself for not reaching the society’s standards of beauty and fame. You yearn for the attention of people who are unaware of the person you are. Today as I sit, I want to remind you, you are beautiful and strong just as you are.

As the occasion of women’s day is here, I want to share how proud I am for all of you have come so far so courageously. As you sit back and relax, I ask all of you to appreciate the journey and the person you have become. To appreciate and support one another for it’s a war with the world and not ourselves because…
