Leader of Opposition (LOP) Vijender Gupta observed that some of the colleges in Delhi University are undergoing a financial crises. He requested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to release the requisite funds or grants for the colleges.

“No injustice should be done to any of the constituents. The government must ensure that withheld grants should not hamper introduction of new academic programs. Stopping the grants and sanctions of these colleges is almost stiffing the growth of these colleges and trampling upon the democratic rights of teaching and non-teaching communities of these colleges,” he told The Tribune.

He further said that the colleges were in need of immediate financial assistance and any issues with the university shouldn’t hamper their daily functioning. He further urged the Delhi Government to solve any issues at the earliest stating that it was their primary duty to protect the interests of students, teachers and staff members.
