The news of late night sudden demise of veteran actress Sridevi came as an end of era to all on 24th February 2018. Sridevi was found unconscious in the bathtub of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers by Boney Kapoor, her husband, on Saturday evening, media reports said. After a medical team failed to bring her back to consciousness, she was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead.The heart breaking news piece became public on Sunday morning. She was succumbed to major cardiac arrest in Dubai while attending her nephew’s nuptials. Condolences from political icons to cinema celebrity started pouring once the loss was acknowledged. Hailed as Hindi cinema’s first “female superstar”. Sridevi debut included as a child artist in¬†M. A. Thirumugam‚Äôs 1969 devotional film¬†Thunaivan¬†at the age of four. And since then she never turned back and gave back to back commercially successful films , stunning the world with her performance in movies including¬† Mawaali¬†(1983),¬†Tohfa¬†(1984),¬†Naya Kadam¬†(1984),¬†Maqsad¬†(1984),¬†Masterji(1985),¬†Nazrana¬†(1987),¬†Mr. India¬†(1987),¬†Waqt Ki Awaz¬†(1988) and¬†Chandni¬†(1989). She also received praise for such films as¬†Sadma(1983),¬†Nagina¬†(1986),¬†ChaalBaaz¬†(1989),¬†Lamhe¬†(1991),¬†Khuda Gawah¬†(1992),¬†Gumrah(1993),¬†Laadla¬†(1994) and¬†Judaai¬†(1997).¬†Her recent and final appearance includes Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Zero’.
The ‘Hawa Hawai’ girl bagged innumerable awards.Her tally of achievements included Padma Shri¬†India’s fourth highest civilian award from the Government of India. As a mother and wife, she made her family prosper in her presence. Sridevi sacrificed her career to raise her daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor, in the best of her capacity.
Amidst speculations, reports, and investigations, the Kapoor family is going through an unexpected phase. While news channels have expressed doubt over the reason of Sridevi’s death, attributing to sudden drowning in her bathtub and such, the real cause is yet unclear.
