CBSE plans to advance class 10th and 12th board examination dates so that sufficient time can be given for the evaluation process. For the year 2018-19 the exams will start from mid Feb rather than March .
Usually exams start in the beginning of March and go on for a month but it is seen  that during this period most of the teachers are on leave as the date of examination coincides with the start of summer vacations , so to make the evaluation process better and to get the availibility of experienced faculty ,the board has decided to advance the dates to Feb 15 sources said as quoted by Hindustan Times. Moreover it will not cause inconvenience to the students as most of them take preparatory leave from January.
The board wants to make the system more strong and safe and under this scheme it is expecting the best and experienced teachers for evaluation to make the process error free. CBSE chairman RK Chaturvedi said that this step will also advance the date of declaration of results which generally come around third or fourth week of May. Early results will give more time to the students in their undergraduate admission process.
For re-evaluation the chairman further added that it should be scraped as very few students apply for it. Moreover if the board can ensure the students that evaluations are done properly and are error-free, the question of revaluation will not arise.
