The passionate girl hailing from Gautam Buddh Nagar had received a scholarship of more than Rs. 3.8 crore to pursue her education at Massachusetts’ Babson College.
According to the Bulandshahr Police, she was confirmed brought dead when hurried to the nearest hospital. As per reports, she underwent fatal injuries in the accident.
“We were going at the speed of around 30 kmph on our Splendor bike near Aurangabad. I asked Didi whether she wants to go home or visit our relative. We decided to go to our village first and then meet our mama. So we were heading home when a Bullet motorcycle driving ahead of us, pulled the brakes suddenly. Our speed was slow and as I halted, the bike imbalanced and didi fell onto the road”, told Nigam Bhati (Sudeeksha’s brother) to Indian Express.
“When we crossed the Bulandshahr town, we entered a village. A bike then overtook us several times; the biker was driving recklessly. He then started performing stunts. I slowed down my motorcycle, but the other bike hit ours. All of us fell but my niece suffered head injuries. I could not recognize the driver of the other bike and he escaped shortly after we met with the accident,” told Satender Bhati, Sudeeksha’s uncle to NDTV.
The family has claimed that all three of them, Sudeeksha, her uncle and her brother were on the bike, the district magistrate contradicted the claim and said that her uncle was not present at the spot.
According to Atul Kumar Srivastava, SP of Bulandshahr, the mishap was notified by Aurangabad police. Afterwards, the police investigated the people at the spot and her family, including her brother. The police denied the allegations of murder. “But we will investigate the harassment charge and are trying to get in touch with Sudeeksha’s family,” said Kumar.
Sudeeksha is the daughter of Jitendra Bhati, a tea-seller in a small village of Bulandshahr, Dadri. The death of a promising girl provoked outrage and demands the probe of the harassment she faced.
