Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia inaugurated the Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT) in Dwarka on Wednesday. The institute¬†was under Delhi University and earlier it was known as Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT).The institute recently got approval to function as an University.
Now it will have autonomy to revise curriculum, create its own academic council and accelerate administrative decisions. It will remain accountable to the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Manish Sisodia said that NSUT will focus on creating job-makers instead of job seekers by including entrepreneurship and skill-based education in its curriculum.
He also took a dig at the centre, “Their officers made it very difficult for our officers to get any work done. Even though the Cabinet gave its wag to the NSUT proposal, the Centre sat on it for 2.5 years before giving its approval,” he said.
