Delhi School Of Journalism Students Raised Concerns On Many Issues,Alleges Administration Issued Threats

Delhi School of Journalism which calls itself “one of the premier journalism schools in India” is hogging the limelight yet again. But this time the questions are being raised over the management and credibility of the institution and the course provided by it.

The recent press release by the students of Delhi School of Journalism after a Press Conference held at Arts Faculty today raises matters of grave concern.It points out that the institution is an epitome of mismanagement and there is no grievance redressal mechanism in place.

The issues raised by the students include hefty fees,no provision of hostel seats,non recognition of the course from UGC and lack of faculty.The students are also worried as they have no access to internship opportunities.The institutions also suffers from lack of basic infrastructure required for the proper training of students. The students have also alleged that the college authorities never pay heed to their problems and on the top of it threaten them with rustication.

The students have demanded that their grievances should be redressed as early as possible.They want that their course to be affiliated,fees subsidised and provision for hostel seats be made at the earliest.

The students have also asked for permanent appointment of faculty members,promised infrastructure and a forum for the redressal of their grievances.Students have also complained about the discriminatory behavior of the teachers and authorities towards Hindi Journalism students.

A student who did not wish to be named claimed that no steps had been taken by the college for the affiliation of its course even after considerable time which showed the lackadaisical approach of the institution towards the future of its students.

The students have asked for an urgent reduction of fees from the authorities which if not met would result on their going on infinite strike and selling pakoras at the Arts Faculty to protest against the same on 22nd of this month.
