DELHI UNIVERSITY: INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS WITH BACKLOGS TO BE PROMOTED

Delhi University will promote the intermediate college students with backlogs to the subsequent semester, however, the students will have to clear the exams whenever held next.

The University of Delhi has released the promotion criteria for intermediate semester students of all Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. In response to an official notification, all the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students {excluding the Council Mandatory Courses, including Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) and School of Open Learning (SOL)}, will likely be allowed to carry forward the subjects that they have failed in.

“The students shall be allowed to carry forward the subjects in which he/she failed in a semester/year and shall be promoted to the next year,” an official statement stated.

“However, such students may clear the examination for the course in which he/she has failed/remained absent, when examinations are held next year as per the cycle of the semester and the span period,” the statement added.

The University of Delhi students who are currently in their second year of Undergraduate courses under the annual mode and second semester (1st Year), under Postgraduate courses registered with the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), First-year Undergraduate students under the CBCS ( Choice Based Credit System) of SOL are also eligible for the promotion, The University of Delhi said.

The University of Delhi further added to their statement that the provision is only applicable for the current academic session (2019-20) in view of Corona Virus pandemic. The courses that are administered by the statutory regulatory bodies or councils will not be covered under this provision, the University said.

With admissions coming closer and the hectic online classes, this came as a relief for the students with backlogs in their respective subjects.
