Delhi University has removed Principals of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce and Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) on Monday night.
The order issued by the University stated the removal of Rajeev Chopra, who was OSD (Officer on Special Duty) at Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. Further, the order mentioned that it is done because of the completion of his 6 months tenure long back.
He was appointed as OSD in October 2013 for 6 months, but he completed more than 6 years. He will be repatriated to his parent college, Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) immediately. As per the order issued, the Chairperson or the governing body of the University will hand over the charge to the senior-most teacher of the college for the time being.
Considering the same, Dr. Anuradha Gupta has taken over the charge as Principal at Delhi College of Arts & Commerce. Rajeev Chopra has questioned the sudden and unexpected action amidst the lockdown and that too on a gazetted holiday.
Namita Rajput who was principal at Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) has been replaced by Kusum Lata. She also claimed that the University took this decision in the absence of a functional governing body. She mentioned that the administration has sent orders via mail that too without mentioning the reasons behind this decision. The Delhi Government funds both of these colleges. There is no governing body at these colleges yet.
