Deputy Dean Student Welfare Dr Tuteja Removed,Some Link It With Ankiv Baisoya Case,DU Calls It Follow Up Action On CAG Report

Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Deputy Dean of Student’s Welfare (DSW) was removed from his position and later asked to join Zakir Hussain College,University of Delhi where he earlier used to teach Mathematics.According to a Times of India report, many members of the Academic & Executive Council have alleged that this removal took place to delay action in the Ankiv Baisoya issue. On the contrary,Delhi University claimed that this was done as a follow up action on a CAG report which has objected to 11 administrative posts in the University.

The incident came to light on Monday, when Mr Tuteja found that he hasn’t been paid his salary so he took up the matter with the Finance Officer who allegedly told him that the salary has been stopped by DU.He was later accompanied by senior officials and members of the Academic & Executive council to the Registrar’s office where he was finally paid his salary.

Mohammad Ali, Delhi State NSUI Media Convenor linked the removal of Dr Gurpreet Singh Tuteja with the Ankiv Baisoya probe going on currently. He feels that the Dean has been removed to delay the investigation in this matter.

As reported by Times of India, the decision has been taken by Delhi University in regard of a 2017 CAG report which states that vacancy circulars for 11 administrative posts weren’t published in employment news and not circulated among colleges. The report observed that University violated guidelines of deputation procedure and created many unauthorised posts which resulted in unauthorised payments, the report also raised various questions on the appointment of the Registrar.
