DU Admissions 2017: Cut-offs Can Reach As High As 90 Percent For Foreign Language Courses

Students aspiring to be admitted to the Department of Germanic And Romance Studies of Delhi University can lookout for a higher cut-off this academic year. Admission to undergraduate courses in languages offered by this department is conducted through the ongoing online registration process.

The Department of Germanic And Romance Studies advances BA (Hons) programmes in French, German, Italian and Spanish. The entry to which is, based on merit and cut-offs are released.

Associate professor of Spanish and member of Admission Committee, Vijaya Venkatraman said, “Students can expect a minimum of five cut-off lists this year under all the languages. Unlike every year, the cut-off will be slightly higher and demanding.” He further added, “However the department will bring down the cut-off to 85 percent in the first two lists.”

Last year, admissions to foreign language UG course through GRS department closed near 86% for the non-reserved category. However, the final list for reserved categories allowed admissions at a lowest of 71.25%.

Also, 5% marks will be deducted from the percentage of candidates who have not studied the language in class 12 for which they are seeking the admission in BA(Hons) in the GRS department.

Aspirants for the above mentioned courses have to pay a fees of INR  3046 at the time of final selection to the course.
