Admission time for M.Phil,PhD and PG programs are around the corner. Application form for admission is going to start from 31st may 2017.There has been quite a hustle about the entrance exam from a long time. Delhi University earlier this month declared that they would conduct entrance exams through online mode. Delhi University Students Union and ABVP criticized this decision and did protest as applicants applying from rural background are not computer friendly and it is unjust on their part.
Due to protest and criticism, the standing committee in a meeting on 19th may held that Delhi University would conduct both Online and Offline entrance this time. It depends on the students will, which is suitable.
However, standing committee on Saturday held that the entrance for M.Phil,PhD and PG programs  would be conducted only in offline mode. The decision is held because conducting an exam in both online and offline format will not be feasible for the authorities.
“Logistics involved in conducting both kind of examinations were not feasible. Several stakeholders were consulted and it was found that it needed a large exercise,” a member of Standing committee for admission¬†told PTI.
“Diverting the same resources for two examinations would not only involve more cost but also manpower. Also time is very short,” the member said.
Therefore, the final decision has been taken and now there are no online entrance exams for M.Phil,PhD and PG programs this year. For M.Phil,PhD and PG programs the entrance exams would take place only in offline mode for this year. This is so far the final decision of the Delhi University’s standing commission for admission.
