28-year-old Pragati, who is a graduate in English Honours from Miranda House is back in the campus, but with a new role this time.She is currently deployed as the Sub-Inspector at Delhi University’s North Campus to ensure safety and security during the ongoing admission process.
When asked about why she has taken such step, she told The Hindu, “I want to break the notion that police officers are unapproachable. Even I had this thought as a college student. Hence, I want to break this preconceived notion.”
“We have deployed police officers inside PCR vans with a women team as well who carry out continuous patrolling in the area. Besides this, we also hold self-defence training programmes and counselling sessions within colleges to bring out awareness among the students” she added.
