Considering the present situation due to COVID-19, Delhi University has decided to eliminate the interview component from the admission process. The interview was generally given 15% weightage for admission in postgraduate courses at the university.
This decision was taken in a meeting held on Thursday taking in account the norms of social distancing. The University is trying to conduct a contact-less admission session this year. This is a part of the agenda made by the standing committee for admissions of the university. The registration will begin on June 20.
DU has advised colleges in the bulletin of information that they should not consider any other criteria for admissions except written examination because the physical presence of the applicants will not be possible this year. Colleges will also provide online counseling to students. All the decisions and information regarding the admission process will be conveyed to the students. Acceptance, denial, and on-hold, whatever the case may be, will be intimated to the students along with a reason for the same. The original documents will be verified one lockdown reopens and session commences.
The colleges cannot cancel admission on the basis of any discrepancy in the documents unless they are forged.
