DU Famous Alumni : Top Five Journalists

Delhi University boasts of a long list of famous personalities in the field of journalism. This article talks about top five journalists which the University of Delhi has produced so far.

1. Ravish Kumar

Ravish Kumar is an Indian journalist, TV anchor and writer. He is the managing editor of NDTV India, a Hindi news channel. Kumar is best known fir his show “Ravish ki Report”. He is a pass out of Deshbandhu College and recently has been awarded with Ramon Magsaysay Award, 2019. He has also been awarded with Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award in 2013 and 2017.

2. Barkha Dutt

Barkha Dutt is an Indian journalist and author. She is a pass out from St. Stephens College with a degree in English Literature and is currently working with Tiranga TV. Dutt has been a part of NDTV channel for 21 years in the past. She came in limelight when she covered the Kargil Conflict between India and Pakistan in the year 1999. Barkha Dutt has received many national and international awards including Padma Shri.

3. Arnab Goswami

Arnab Goswami is an Indian journalist and television news anchor who is best known for holding political debates. He is the managing director and majority owner of Republic TV. Goswami earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Hindu College. He has received Asian Television Award for Best Anchor in two consecutive years i.e., in 2003 and 2004.

4. Shoma Chaudhury

Shoma Chaudhury is an Indian journalist, political commentator and editor. She was the managing director and one of the founders of Tehelka, a public interest newspaper in the past. Currently, she is the director and co-founder of Algebra, organization that holds public interviews of famous personalities. Chaudhury has a graduate as well as post-graduate degree from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She has been awarded with many awards including Chameli Devi Award for Best Woman Journalist in 2009. 

5. Rajat Sharma

Rajat Sharma, the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Indian news channel, India TV is a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is best known for his show, “Aap Ki Adalat” in which he interviews famous personalities of India.
