Delhi University filed a police complaint on Monday in the alleged fake degree submitted by ABVP’s Ankiv Baisoya matter, who has recently resigned as the DUSU President, immediately a day after his admission was cancelled by the University.
On the 95th convocation of the University, DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Tyagi said the University has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He said “We have been able to make the process of admission transparent by the distinctive efforts of those who are at the helm of affairs.Although some cases of malpractices have come to our notice, we have the process of accountability in place and a strong resolve to take corrective measures and we would not like any delinquent in the admission process to go scot-free”
The complaint filed by KTS Sarao, head of the department of Buddhist Studies, said that Baisoya had appeared in the entrance examination conducted by DU
“After qualifying the examination, Baisoya took admission in MA Buddhist Studies, Part I, and submitted six mark sheets of six semesters of Bachelor of Arts degree from Thiruvalluvar University. The basic qualification for admission to MA (Buddhist Studies) is a Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university,” Sarao said in his complaint.
The complaint stated “the controller of examinations of Thiruvalluvar University has written that each of these mark sheets submitted by Baisoya is not genuine. It is a fake certificate”
“On the basis of verification report received from Controller of Examinations Thiruvalluvar University, Baisoya’s admission was cancelled on November 14” Sarao said.
