The Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) at Delhi University is conducting a series of workshops on Creative Writing. The board has kept it simple, by introducing the attendees to both Hindi and English content. The workshop is bilingual in nature, and is being hosted from 13th April to 3rd May.
According to Geeta Bhatt, NCWEB Director, the workshop commits to empower the students with immense opportunities by honing their writing skills.
The chief guest for the Inaugural Session was the Secretary and CVO of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Mr Rajnish Jain. According to him, communication is an integral part of life and society. Therefore, such workshops help the students in fully expressing themselves through their work. While addressing the online gathering, Jain also exclaimed that the essence and emphasis on creative writing is well-expressed in the National Education Policy. The “life-skill” courses have communication and writing skills as an integral part. Adding to his speech, he said that the only qualification to be a creative writer is infinite imagination and a desire to write.
NCWEB has been contributing to the empowerment of women through education for about 76 years now. P. C. Joshi, the Vice-Chancellor at the University of Delhi, said that the workshop will be beneficial to the students of NCWEB. It will help the students to increase their confidence and will infuse positive energy in these unprecedented times.
