Recently, the Delhi High Court instructed the Univeristy of Delhi to expedite the results of Open Book Examinations held for the Batch of 2020. The students applying to foreign universities would be the major beneficiaries. Moreover, it should also make an email id where students can forward their requests.

The University agreed to create an email id. It will put up the details on the website and would forward the same to all the colleges. However, this Wednesday, the University informed the Delhi HC of its inability to deliver anytime soon. It will only be possible to announce the results towards the end of October. This is due to lacking human-power and resources in these unusual times.

However, the varsity is functioning at its best to deliver the results of the ones applying to universities abroad. The University added that 17 post-graduate students have applied for confidential results. These are the students applying to foreign universities. Besides, it will send the results to the universities by 29 September.

Similarily, 342 undergraduate students have applied for provisional results. 157 students have received the results already. And, the provisional results of 43 students, who have applied to foreign universities, will be sent by Thursday. The university is in the process of reaching out to the students who have submitted incomplete information.

Moreover, the HC also asked Delhi University about the status of the evaluation of answer sheets. The varsity is in the process of tracking duplicate submissions over emails. However, 72 per cent of the answer sheets submitted on the OBE portal have been evaluated.

The timely checks by the High Court are proving helpful. It is keeping the DU under check. This can be seen in the active and timely responses from the university. Thus, the promptness of the HC would prove helpful to the Batch of 2020.
