DU Set To Start 3 Year Degree Course in Entrepreneurship From Next Year

The standing committee is all set to go along with to start a new degree course from next academic session that is BBA Entrepreneurship.The department equipped for this course is Humanities and Social Sciences.The course is yet to get an approval from academic council after which the syllabus and curriculum will get into deliverance.

Presently either diploma is being offered in this course in most of the universities or degree course in private universities.The foremost agenda of this course is to enable students to begin with their own enterprise.The course is also in coordination with Delhi government and Centre government’s drive for skill-development and entrepreneurship at undergraduate levels.This course will be highly beneficial to the ones aiming to begin with their own business or startups.

This course proposal was initiated by Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and its Principal Poonam Verma was quoted as saying “We spoke to the faculty there at length and realized that the younger generation in this field is much faster in learning as compared to what we had been. They are now learning things that we used to learn during our PG courses. The syllabus has been created keeping this in mind.”

The students who are willing to get admitted in this course have to get through the three-way process beginning with the national level entrance test, followed by a group discussion and lastly the personal interview. The entrance exam will analyze the candidate’s logical and quantitative reasoning.During their ongoing course students are supposed to accomplish with two internships and submission if dissertation at the end of 6 semester is required. The three year degree course will consist of 158 credits as per the Choice Based Credit System. The Entrepreneurship course will get started in the Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies as per the principal of the college if it gets the approval.
