The students of Enactus Shri Ram College of Commerce have taken up an initiative to help empower the rural women of Karnal, Haryana and liberate them from the shackles of this patriarchal society.
          
Through Project Sattva – “Churning Purity into Progress”, they seek to empower the lives of 11 rural women in the dairy sector, counter inefficiencies in the dairy supply chain and enhance the quality of milk and milk products available to local and urban consumers.  Based in the villages of Amritpur Kalan and Taprana, this initiative has been the first step forward for these women from living under the supremacy of others to standing up for themselves as independent, strong-willed individuals by providing them literacy and entrepreneurial training. 
They have recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Bitgiving in order to raise funds for further improving the lives of these women by aspiring to provide them with a vehicle, packaging machine and infrastructure to make them more efficient.
