Chris Morris, the most expensive player

The world’s most famous cricket league, Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions 2021 took place in Chennai on 18th February 2021. Eight IPL franchises bid to fill 61 positions. Chris Morris has become the most expensive player in IPL history. He will play for Rajasthan Royals for 16.25 crores. At the same time, Glenn Maxwell became a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore for 14.25 crores.

Sachin’s Son Arjun Tendulkar Sold for 20 Lakhs at IPL Auctions 2021

Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, became a player of Mumbai Indians at his base price i.e. 20 lakhs. Sachin Tendulkar also used to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL. He is now a mentor of the team. He has also captained Mumbai Indians in 4 seasons of IPL. Mumbai Indians is also the defending champion of the IPL.

Jadhav Sold for 2 Crores

Indian team batsman Kedar Jadhav has been bought by Sunrise Hyderabad. Jadhav, who played with CSK in the previous season, has been sold for 2 crores.

Harbhajan with KKR

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh will be playing for KKR for 2 crores. Harbhajan was sold at his base price.

The Franchise is All-Gaga Over Australian Players

In the auction of IPL 2021, the players of Australia have been shown the love of the franchises. Three players were sold for 33.3 crores. These include Glenn Maxwell, Jay Richardson, and Daniel Christian. Maxwell, Richardson, Christian got sold for 14.25 crores, 14 crores, and 4.8 crores respectively.

Shower of Money on Bowlers at IPL Auctions 2021

The franchisees have placed bets on bowlers in this auction. Chris Morris, Kyle Jameson, Krishnappa Gautam, and Jay Richardson were the most expensive bowlers. Morris sold for 16.25 crores, Jameson 15 crores, Gautam 9.25 crores, and Richardson for 14 crores. The franchisees have spent a total of 54.5 crores on these four bowlers.

Shahrukh Khan Sold for 5.25 Crores 

Tamil Nadu all-rounder Shah Rukh Khan has been fiercely bid in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Punjab Kings has bought Shah Rukh Khan with a base price of 20 lakhs for 5.25 crores. The 25-year-old Tamil Nadu all-rounder did well in the 2020 Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Shahrukh scored in four matches at a strike rate of 220.

  • Rajasthan Royals bought KC Kariappa for 20 lakhs at his base price.
  • Jagdish Suchit bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 30 lakhs.
  • Siddhartha bought Delhi Capitals for 20 lakhs.
  • 24-year-old Riley Meredith of Australia will play for Punjab at 40 lakhs.
  • Rajasthan Royals bought Chetan Sakaria for 1.2 crores.
  • Delhi Capitals bought Lukman Hussain for 20 lakhs.
  • Mohammad Azharuddin bought by RCB for 20 lakhs.
  • Sheldon Jackson bought by KKR for 20 lakhs.
  • Delhi Capitals bought Vishnu Vinod for 20 lakhs.
