Indian Youngsters Going Abroad For Better Work Opportunities : A Problem We Need To Fix

India is the second most populous country in the world after China, and estimates reveal that by 2050 India will surpass China to grab the first position. Indian population consists of a large number of youngsters.With such a huge young population, limited resources and lesser opportunities available, it is becoming difficult for the youth to secure job opportunities in India. Today unfortunately majority of the youth population is jobless.

India is facing jobless growth from the past decade, we are growing and developing economically in terms of GDP but the ground reality remains that the population whether skilled or unskilled is facing a job crisis.At this point of time, they are ready to migrate abroad for better living and opportunities. The lastest trends show high number of migration from India.

The educated Indian youngsters are being employed by foreign companies in developed countries. The Indian brains and now working for the development of countries like America, Canada, Germany etc. Canada has a large number of Punjabi immigrants who left India. Even the unskilled labourers are finding employment in Middle East including Saudi Arabia and trouble torn countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria etc. It is an economic heaven for them. In Bihar,Siwan district’s police verified around 2 lakh passport stations from 2007 to 2013. Every boy in the small villages of backward states now grow up with the dream of possessing a passport and migrating to the Middle East or any part of the world for work. They usually go there to work as manual labourers, mechanical fitters and plumbers. They are overwhelmed with joy that they are being employed and earning a living for themselves as well as their families in India.

One of the migrating workers said, “Here in India they are not assured even of earning 5000 rupees per month but even short trips of 9 month to the Middle East help me build a capital to start business on return”.

We need to change this trend of migration because of which we are losing our genius brains and hardworking hands to foreign countries. These brains and hands together can change the destiny of our nation and they should be provided with enough opportunities within the country. The government of India has started a large number of schemes to help youth grab jobs and the education system is changing to becoming more skill oriented. We need to work together patiently for the bright future of India.
