JNUSU Election Results 2019 : United Left Wins All Four Posts

The Jawaharlal University Student Union election results were finally announced on Tuesday after the Supreme Court granted permission for declaration of the results.The results of the election, were not declared as per schedule as the High Court was to hear two petitions regarding the polls on Tuesday.

The United Front of Left student groups AISA, SFI, AISF, DSF won all the four central panel posts in the Jawaharlal University Student Union election (JNUSU) polls.

The Left-backed All India Students Association (AISA), Students Federation of India (SFI), Democratic Students’ Federation (DSF) and All India Students’ Federation (AISF) saw their vote share increasing to 50.15 percent, up by 4 percent from last year. However, their vote share on the President’s post saw a marginal decline of 1 percent from last year.Its vote share on Presidential post stood at 40.38 percent this year.

Aisha Ghosh won the post of President, Saket Moon bagged the Vice President post, Satish Yadav got elected to the General Secretary seat while  Md Danish won the post of Joint Secretary.The new JNUSU leaders congratulated the University students for their victory in the High Court and praised the JNUSU election committee for standing up to the “threats” from college administration and conducting a fair election.
