Under a programme titled Mapped by Digital Vision, Kirori Mal College has set up digital vision signage to facilitate easy convenient movement of visually challenged students.
To make the campus disabled friendly, the college has installed 82 acrylic sheets with QR codes on its premises. When a smartphone with the smartphone application comes within three feet of the QR code, verbal messages go out identifying the location.
The smartphone application provides navigation and information of the classroom including doors, sitting arrangement and other details in audio format which will help the students to navigate in the classroom.
According to college authorities, 82 devices have been installed in the campus from main entrance to the back exit gate covering academic blocks, classrooms, labs, office, library and canteen.
