The relationship between India and Pakistan have always been a matter of great concern. Since the emergence of these countries, the relationship between the two have never been friendly. The present-day situation is getting worse day by day. Kulbhushan Jadhav’s sentencing by a Pakistani military Court brings India-Pakistan ties to the brink.
The 46-year-old Kulbhushan Jadhav,a retired Indian Navy officer has been awarded death sentence by a Pakistani military court on ¬†charges of alleged “espionage and sabotage” activities on 10 April 2017. Jadhav spent his early days in Maharashtra’s Parel and used to stay in the police quarters with his family. His father is a retired Mumbai Police officer. Jadhav is married and has two children. His uncle Subhash Jadhav,is also a Police Officer and was part of the investigation team probing the hit- and- run case against Bollywood renowned actor Salman Khan. Since the news of his death sentence has come out,his family has relocated to an unknown location in view of their safety.
The death sentence awarded to Jadhav recently echoed in both houses of Parliament where all parties came together to condemn the verdict and pressured the government to take every step to help him. Arrested on March 3 last year by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan,Jadhav was called a ‘serving officer’ in the Indian Navy and alleged to be deputed to the Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW) by Pakistan. The Pakistan Army had also released a “confessional video” of Jadhav after his arrest.
The Indian government recognizes Jadhav as a former naval officer, but denies link with him and says he took premature retirement and was possibly abducted from Iran.“Jadhav was kidnapped by Pakistani¬†agencies from Iran and put through trial as a Raw agent,” Rajnath Singh,India’s Minister of Home Affairs said. “There was no evidence of any wrongdoing by Jadhav and termed his sentencing an act of premeditated murder. If Pakistan implemented the death sentence, the bilateral relations between both countries would face direct consequences,” Sushma Swaraj,India’s Minister of External Affairs said.
Kulbhushan Jadhav,is not the first Indian to be tired and condemned to death by Pakistan. Yet he is the most known and talked about Indian convict in Pakistan, charged with terrorism and espionage. But a Bollywood movie based on Sarabjit Singh life was made last year,an Indian  farmer who was  convicted of charges of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death.
A day before Pakistan awarded death sentence to Jadhav.Indian Coast Guard and fisherman saved the lives of two Pakistani sailors who had inadvertently crossed over to the Indian waters off the coast of Gujarat. This show Indians humanity.
While the Indians reacted strongly to the death sentence pronounced by Pakistan Army against Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav. Angry locals in Agra’s Braj has made a request to the government of India to ‘ teach Pakistan a lesson it won’t forget.’¬†“Be it any Pakistani citizen in India,be it artist, businessmen or anyone-everyone should be thrown out of India till Kulbhushan Jadhav is not released,” Senior MNS leader Sandeep Desphande said. ¬†
