Land Given To DU To Build A Girls College Caught In A Dispute

DU was allotted land by the AAP government for opening girls college and as Delhi University took the possession of land, it faced a challenge.

Two farmhouse owners nearby have alleged that it is their private land which has been given away as land to Delhi University. As a result, Delhi Police and other private guards have been deployed at the spot.

The owners of the farmhouse are – Gulab Singh Tanwar of Saarthi Airways and Ajit Pal Singh, captain of the 1975 Hockey World Cup wining team.

They are claiming compensation, in case the government intends to take over their land According to them, the District Magistrate is not providing them any details in this matter.Officials on the hand said that this land belongs to Delhi Government and it has been given on lease to Delhi University for free for the next 99 years.
