The Manipur Council of Higher Secondary Education declared the Class 12th results on May 3, 2018 on the official website manresults.nic.in. Selina Keisham topped the higher secondary examination with securing 482 marks.
However even after being the overall topper Selina could not manage to get a seat at St.Stephen’s first cut-off list. Although, being the science stream topper she could not get a place in one of the most prestigious colleges of Delhi University. She is a civil aspirant and applied for History (Hons) but couldn’t make it up to the mark as the cut-off stood at 98 percent for science stream for History (Hons). The cut-off for History (Hons) for science stream is 98 percent , for commerce it is the same – 98 percent and for humanities it is 96.5 percent and a rise of 0.25 – 0.5 percentage in cut-offs was evident as compared to last year.
“If I get a chance to work in the state education department, I will try to eradicate the corruption from the education system , and also want to modernize the board syllabus at a par with all centre boards like CBSE, ICSE ,” she told Indian Express in an interview.
Being a science student she did not want to follow the stereotype of getting into medical or engineering college rather wanted to pursue History (Hons) and become a civil servant and focussed on renowned North Campus colleges like St.Stephens College and Miranda House.
