Today the story isn’t same. This trending hashtag has serious connotation that demands your support.It is a rebel disapproving those repulsive comments , unwanted touches and unbearable stares.It is a voice opposing sexual assaults. This shriek of disinclination has taken the social networking platforms by storm.In less than a day the campaign saw flooded responses across the globe.Over half a million tweets and thousand of shares are enough to highlight this severe issue.

EXISTENCE UNVEILED

The campaign is believed to breath first in 2007 long before the finding of hashtag culture.Tarana Burke,founder of youth organization Just Be Inc., created the “Me Too” campaign.

However, #metoo really kicked off on 15 october when in response to allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein (he was accused of sexual misconduct) actress and activist Alyssa Milano tweeted the following note: ‚ÄúSuggested by a friend: If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‚ÄòMe too‚Äô as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem,‚Äù she said.Other renowned celebrities like Lady Gaga, Patricia Arquette didn’t fail to join the movement making it viral.

Despite the birth of campaign in foreign land , back up by Indian masses shows that tremors of sexual assault traps the women of our republic in uncountable numbers.Mallika Dua ,a well known stand-up comedian, on her facebook wall shared how she was sexually harassed at the mere age of seven in her own car. As of now, if you sight any #metoo then know that somewhere in corner of world a pervert has disregarded a woman.
