NIRF Rankings 2018 are now out.The rankings were announced at an event in the Vigyan Bhavan by Prakash Javadekar,Union HRD minister today evening.
The rankings are based on the following categories : Overall;Universities;Engineering;Colleges;Management;Pharmacy;Medical;Architecture and Law.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru has been declared to be the overall best institution.Indian Institute of Technology,Madras has been ranked as the best engineering college while Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has been adjudged the best Management institution.When it came to the category of Universities,Indian Institute of Science (IISc),Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU),Banaras Hindu University secured the top 3 positions respectively.University of Delhi has been ranked 7th in the list.
A LOT FOR DELHI UNIVERSITY COLLEGES TO CHEER ABOUT-
Miranda House has managed to retain its first rank in the category of top 10 colleges.St. Stephens College,which failed to secure a position in the rankings last year has been ranked as the second best college while Hindu College,which too wasn’t a part of the list last year,has managed to get the 4th spot in list.Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) which was ranked at number 3 last year is at number 7 this year.Lady Shri Ram College for Women which was ranked the 7th¬†best college last year stepped down the ladder and managed to secure 8th position this year.
While the NIRF rankings called out for celebrations for some colleges,the others must buckle up to get a place in next year rankings.
