As water flooded half of Odisha, transportation facilities have been disrupted. Out of the 37,000 candidates for JEE Mains, those who don’t have their own transport will be provided free transportation and accommodation facilities by the government.
What are the arrangements?
Accommodation will be provided at polytechnic institutes, engineering colleges and ITIs, Tripathy said. The government will provide buses to ferry aspirants from their hometowns to the designated exam venues. 26 examination centres have been registered in the state. “If information is not received by August 31, it will be difficult for us to make arrangements,” he added. For each district one ITI has been declared as a nodal centre. Candidates and their parents can move freely for the exams by just showing the admit card of the exams.
What’s the CM’s vision?
Speaking to India Today TV, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik said, “Our CM has always been cognisant of the problems faced by people of Odisha. In this case, children were getting affected as they had to travel from interior areas to examination centres.”This will go a long way in soothing the flayed nerves of the children and their parents while writing these entrance examinations. I doubt if any state has done so much preparatory work for these examinations, ” he added.
As scheduled, the JEE Mains examination will be held between September 1 and 6 and NEET 2020 on September 13.
