In the present times, everything from education to work to well being has gone online, thanks to the pandemic! In these unprecedented times, most universities including the University of Delhi (DU) have switched to the online mode of teaching. However, online education still remains a dream for many. There are financial and logistical restraints for some and internet connectivity issues for others. Thus, students are facing problems adjusting to the ‘new normal’.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, a group of students called Yuva and teachers from Rajdhani College, have taken a step called ‘Books Without Limit’. The group will courier books and reading material to college students across the country.

Anand Prakash, an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and the convener of Yuva, said that they realized a need for this initiative when many students reported the inability to access the internet and books. The convener added that the part of the fees generally used for fests and co-curricular activities can now be used for sending books to these students.

This is an attempt to help the students who hail from financially weaker sections of the society. The college teachers will be helping the students in providing them with the list of required books.

The infected cases are increasing at an exponential rate. Thus, the uncertainty looms. It is reasonable to assume that online education will be the way out for a few months down the line. However, access to online education remains restricted in India. The support of the college in this lead portrays the concern of the staff towards the same. Amidst these unsure times, they are coming forward to help the ones in need and making education accessible to all. Similar steps from colleges and universities will actually help students to sail smoothly through these times.
