In the alleged Rape Case of 2002,The CBI had filed an FIR against Ram Rahim in 2002 and the case came to trial in 2008. Today Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was found guilty of raping two ‘sadhvis’ (female followers) by the CBI court in Panchkula, Haryana. The quantum of the sentence will be announced on Monday, August 28. The Dera chief faces up to seven years in jail.
Amidst the large number of followers who were settled on the roads with lathis and sort of weapons,despite of section 144 of IPC imposed in Haryana And Punjab,Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh arrived at CBI court in Panchkula, where the verdict was announced and he has been convicted in rape case by CBI court in Panchkula,then he has been taken to judicial custody till August 28.
The bench said that the quantum of sentence in the case will be announced on Monday.As the rape victim was a minor — the minimum jail term could be 7 years, which could be extended up to life term.

According to ANI, death toll has reached 12 and over 100 people have been injured following the Dera violence in Panchkula,fortunately no death is reported in Delhi NCR till now.

1.The Punjab and Haryana High Court orders attachment of all properties owned by the Dera Sacha Sauda chief to compensate for all the destruction caused by the spiritual leader’s supporters.

4.In his first reaction to the ongoing violence, Haryana chief minister Manohar Khattar says-“I appeal everybody to remain cautious.No one is above law. Appeal people to not believe in rumors and steer clear of people with criminal intentions.”
