South Campus Metro Station Ready To Go!

Located at a considerable distance from AIIMS and INA metro stations on the yellow line and from Dhaula Kuan on the orange line,South Campus will finally witness the operations of its very own metro station named Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus,located next to Sri Vankateswara College’s playing field.It is ready to go as safety trials on Delhi metro’s upcoming Pink line connecting Majlis Park with Shiv Vihar are done.

HOW DOES PINK LINE BENEFIT PEOPLE?

The Pink line is expected to reduce traveling time from South campus to North Campus by approximately 40 minutes if the passengers interchange section on the Azadpur line to access the pink line or alternatively use the yellow line to reach New Delhi and take the Airport line to Dhaula Kuan.According to reports,the officials are expecting a traffic of about 12000 students daily at the station.

The South Campus metro station also has unique features including the first ever ‘Travelator’ (moving walkaway) on the metro network.It will provide access from the new station to the existing Dhaula Kuan station.The Travelator,however is only 60% ready and will start functioning by June,long after the inauguration of the line in March.
