SSCBS Makes India Proud At The Enactus World Cup 2016

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) has made Delhi University and India proud by securing the second position at the Enactus World Cup held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Canada on September 30, 2016. 

Enactus SSCBS won The Enactus India Nationals held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai on July 21-22, beating teams from all over the nation and making it to the World Cup.

“This year’s competition is very tough, and the team projects from around the world demonstrate how Enactus students boldly develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges,” said¬†Terry Torok, Enactus chief innovation officer in an interview with a local daily.¬†

Four Teams made it to the Final Round of the World Cup- Nigeria, Canada, Germany and INDIA, and presented their projects of business innovation and social entrepreneurship to an elaborate panel consisting of 150 business executives from around the world.

While Enactus Canada was announced as the world champions 2016, Enactus India, represented by Enactus SSCBS, was announced as the runners-up followed by Enactus Germany and Enactus Nigeria. 

Enactus SSCBS presented their two current projects- Project Raahat ,which aims at eradicating open defecation crisis from the slums of Delhi and Project Udaan, which focuses on bringing about digital literacy in the rural areas by reutilising e-waste. 

The grand affair had 3,500 students from 32 different countries battling to be known as the World Champions. 

SSCBS has definitely made India’s mark on the world map and has left an indelible imprint with their dedication, hardwork and diligence.¬†
