When it comes to Delhi University, two foremost things a student comes across with is societies and street food.Especially when it comes to chai which is a cure-all to all the problems. It is a total alignment to the students and so is the famous tea stall in SRCC.As this tea stall is not merely a tea stall but an elixir to their monotonous college life. Also,a place where students would be seen discussing assignment to their breakups.

However something unfortunate happened when this famous tea stall inside the college premises caught fire on 19th August 2018.In no time the college faculty and students headed to provide help to the tea stall owner. An initiative of collection drive has been taken by the college staff and students to help him rebuild the tea stall.

“This tea stall holds a special place in our college and get rid of the daily hectic life uncle’s chai was the solution to it. When we heard about this accident it was heartbreaking but then we decided to take initiative and do something about it and started a collection drive in which everybody contributed some amount of money and the stuff required for repairing.” a student from SRCC told DU Express.

Often these tea stalls, stationary shops or book stores which provide books at much cheaper rates to the students get overlooked and we only realise their value when they are moved away or they get replaced. We hope the tea stall owner is able to recover from this loss and will get his business back on track soon.
