Last month,Delhi University Student’s Union launched the gender sensitisation cell which is abided to create a safe atmosphere and protecting students from sexual harassment or gender discrimination and provide them with the legal aid and advise but it seems like the number of sexual harassment cases in the University aren’t just limited to students.In the last 10 days,two sexual harassment cases cropped up at Daulat Ram College & Bharti College.

The fresh incident of sexual harassment is from DU’s Swami Shraddhanand College.A former guest lecturer of the college has filed an FIR against the college’s acting principal alleging sexual harassment.
According to a report in Indian Express,the complainant’s husband said- “My wife worked on ad-hoc basis at the college till last year.Of 150 people,she was the only one compelled into submitting a resignation letter from the ad-hoc position”.He also alleged that the Principal used to joke with her wife in a vulgar way and that the college administration tried to convince her to take back the complaint.
The complaint was filed with Delhi Commission For Women on 22nd December 2017 and subsequently with the Internal Complaint Committee of the college.
Acting Principal P V Khatri said the charges were made to ‘defame’ him.”She is like my daughter;none of the allegations are true.We had to let her go because there was no workload for her.This is the first FIR Lodged against me in my career and I feel disturbed by it” said Principal of the college.
‚ÄúWe lodged an FIR at Alipur police station under relevant sections on February 9.Further investigations are underway” the Police told Indian Express.
