The University of Delhi has released a notification, issued on the 29th of January 2021, stating the commencement of offline classes for final year students in small and organized groups. And another notification declaring that the offices at Delhi University shall function with 100% staff effective from 1st of February 2021.
The notification states that all Colleges/Centres/Departments shall be functional from the 1st of February 2021. Therefore, the teaching staff should be present at their workplace effective from the same date.
However, the final year student may visit their respective Colleges/Centres/Departments (for laboratories)/ Practical/Skills/Library and related activities only in small groups and as per the discretion of the respective Principal/Director/Head. What must also be kept in mind is the UGC Guidelines and SOPs – dated November 5, 2020 – and MHA order dated January 27, 2021. The students can then voluntarily attend their practical classes offline in small, monitored groups.
Under the Delhi Disaster Management Authority’s order number 345, the COVID-19 situation has been reviewed. The COVID positivity rate has declined significantly. Therefore, they decided that all government offices of NCT of Delhi/ Autonomous bodies/ PSUs/Corporations/ Local Bodies may function to the extent of 100% staff strength with immediate effect. This shall be exercised with the enforcement of proper social-distancing in the offices at all levels. On this, the University has decided to conduct staff meetings in order to arrange for their duties. To manage crowding, the staff is to be divided into two slots from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Further, regarding the institutions offering programmes with the approval of Statutory Authorities/ Councils, the guidelines issued by them are to be followed in totality.
