Time to enter a New World

The  boards  have ended, result is here and like every year it has left students and their parents with lots of tension which primarily includes  “Are my marks sufficient to be in Delhi University?”, “Would I be in the college I’ve always wanted to go?” or “Will I get the course of my choice?”
These questions are roaming in our mind since the day of Class 12th results. Many of us have already given entrance exams of professional courses like BBA,Law,BJMC or BCA and many would be still preparing for the Joint Entrance Exam of Delhi University. While some are utilizing their time consulting the various Education Counsellors and other professionals about which career to take up.
So in short our struggle seems to continue now also and we often tend to think of the stupid idea we had that “We will enjoy our time once our boards are over”. It is not the time to actually stay confused and messed up in your life thinking everyday things like “School is over,College is yet to come” “I have no goal  or even slight idea about what I am going to end up with”, rather value yourself, assess yourself and decide which course or college you want to opt for and if possible take feedback from others who are already pursuing that course.
Now coming back to the title I gave to my article “The New World”, because once you come out of school you are considered to be a grown up.The world treats you like that,to prove this point we can see how our uncles and aunties are interested in knowing our future plans and goals in life. When you go for some interview (as is the selection  process of some  colleges and courses ),you see that the person questioning you is assessing you on those points which you already know,on the basis of what kind of a person you are. These things seemed very strange to me,as after 14 long years of schooling,I found this change in attitude and mindset something very unusual. At  sometime,if you also feel the same just back yourself and remind yourself that this is your NEW WORLD or to  put it in a better way  “A DIFFERENT WORLD”. A smile would come on your face, once you get it,it;ll mean that you have realized this change and accepted it as well.
Since  all of us are not sure whether we would be in Delhi University or not, because most of us divide the world on the basis of two – one who go to Delhi University and others who don’t,and this demarcation often leads to the idea of supremacy of former  over latter. However, what we refer to “A new world” is not just restricted to Delhi University,it is about the general scenario prevailing in the mindsets of people for years,it is what  people do everywhere. However, mainly focused on that tends to make us forget that Delhi university or for that matter any other university is not to be judged by “How awesome its fests are” or “How much value my university brings to my status?” because things will not remain the same in long run.
What stays with you would be the memories and your personal experience with your alma mater and you will cherish these things once college is over, just like you remember your school days right now.Once you complete your graduation, the world will again  change for you but do remember whenever next time it happens you will accept it with a smile and lots of positivity.
