Get Ready to groove on the tunes of patriotic songs in next month as the HRD Ministry has asked the IITs and Central Universities to host music bands who would be performing patriotic numbers as a part of the programme named “Yeh India ka time hai”.The government has identified certain bands which would be visiting campuses (IITs and Central Universities) across the country and perform patriotic numbers, specially from Bollywood.

Around a dozen rock bands are being identified by a private entertainment firm that will perform in various institutions next month.

The programme is being organized to celebrate the 70 years of India’s independence as well as 75 years of the Quit India Movement this year.

There are different tenets of various political parties regarding the Patriotic Band concerts.

According to HRD Ministry The Government is intended promoting the Sense of patriotism and Celebrate this year’s Independence Day and Quit India Movement in a different style.

According to Congress Spokesperson Manish Tewari –‚ÄúIt is a very funny circular to say the least,HRD Ministry‚Äôs circular asking IITs and central universities to organise ‚Äúpatriotic‚Äù rock shows was an ‚Äúinsult‚Äù to the country‚Äôs youth.

According to AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi-“shocking and strange”.”This is very shocking and strange that the government is now saying it will send rock bands to instill patriotism.Please define a patriotic rock band,This is a new form of diverting attention from real issues like job creation,not filling the vacancies in the IITs,slashing the research funds.”

According to BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli –“Whenever we talk about national pride or respect for your motherland, various political parties become very insecure, be it the Congress, the communists. We want the youths of this country to really become partners in this nation building to achieve a New India by 2020, when the nation completes 75 years of Quit India Movement.”
