73% Seats Full Already,Fourth Cutoff Might Offer A Respite of 1-2%

73% of the seats at Delhi University colleges have already been filled.

Kamala Nehru College is likely to close admissions to its most demanded courses.Some colleges still have a few seats left in courses like BCom (Hons),BA Programme,English (Hons) and History (Hons).History (Hons) is expected to be closed at Miranda,few seats are still available at Lady Shri Ram College.

LSR also has seats for honours programmes in Psychology, English,Journalism and Philosophy.However, these courses will also not see a drop of more than 0.25% points in the fourth list.

Sri Venkateswara College will probably have a fourth list for most of its courses other than English (Hons).

“We have filled around 888 seats, out of our available 1,089. We have around four or five seats for BCom (Hons). We also have around 20 seats each for BCom and BA programmes,” said Venkat Kumar, the admission convenor of the college.

Miranda House has filled up 950 of its 1,000 seats. “We are almost done with admissions under the general category for most of the courses. For the fourth list a few seats will be open for the reserved categories” said Dr. Pratibha Jolly, principal of Miranda House.

In Hansraj College, 961 seats out of 1,164 have been filled.

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma Collge saw a total of 140 admissions on Monday.A total of 810 seats out of 1,179 have already been filled.

“Under the fourth cut-off list,admissions to most of the courses such as Economics, Physics, Chemistry and History under the general category will be closed. However, courses like B.Sc. Physical Sciences and Electronics will still be open” said Gyantosh Jha, principal of the college.
