It seems that the cold war between the Delhi university and Govt. of Delhi is not going to be end soon. Govt. has send a new list of the shortlisted candidates to the Delhi university for the appointment of governing body in the colleges.
Actually, what happened, the Govt. was directing the university for the appointment of the governing  body in the colleges from 10 months. But because of not getting the response, it stopped funding for the 28 colleges being funded by it either partly or fully. These 28 colleges include Delhi college of arts and commerce, Maharaja agarsen college, Shaheed sukhdev  college of business studies and more. The stopping of funds already resulted in hike in the academic fee this year. Then Delhi university send the list of shortlisted candidates to the Govt. for the governing body selection. But now this list has been rejected by the Govt.
As said by one of the official, ” It is the conventional right of the Govt. to choose the 5 members of the governing body but the university has send the list of only 5 ones. So that’s why the list has been diversified and a new list has been send.” The list include candidates from diversified field like chartered accountant, academics and so on.
Well it does not matter what step will be taken by the university or the Govt now in this regard. Whether the university will accept the list or not it will be revealed in the coming course of time. But there is a need that an immediate solution is provide to solve out the problem. Otherwise the students will have to suffer from lot of problems as the Govt. has already stopped funding to the colleges. So an immediate and effective solution is require in this regard either by the Delhi university or by the Govt. with mutual consent of both.
