Irrfan Khan passed away today at a hospital in Mumbai, where he was admitted for colon infection. The actor had been battling cancer since 2018. He is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons – Babil and Ayan.
Irrfan Khan’s last movie was ‘Angrezi Medium’, where his role as a father going against all odds to help her daughter secure admission in a foreign country was appreciated by viewers. Shoojit Sircar, his close friend was the first person to break this news on Twitter.

The actor who made his debut with the movie academy award-nominated movie ‘Salaam Bombay’ was best known for his performance in ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Piku’.He also won a National Award for his performance in ‘Paan Singh Tomar’. His popularity goes far beyond Bollywood with his performance in global movies ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Inferno’, and ‘Life of Pi’.
